Will Wilmington seniors sign up for mailing list?
According to the Delaware News Journal, Wilmington City Council president Hanifa Shabazz has introduced a proposal that would call on the city administration to create the database using "basic contact information." The database would be used to notify them of such benefits such as the city’s senior real estate tax exemption, waivers for certain fines and fees, water rate reductions and other programs.
There's just a few issues. First, getting the word out to the seniors to sign up. Second, getting seniors to sign up. Third, protecting the data collected on the seniors. In this day of hackers breaking into some of the biggest government and corporate computers, will seniors trust the city of Wilmington to protect their information?
