Chester Matters starts a weekly photo contest
The folks at the Chester Matters paper (that's me) has launched a Chester Photo Contest that will pay a winner $25 for the best photo of the week of a Chester person, place or thing.
Submissions start on Sunday and the weekly winner is selected the following Sunday.
All submitted photos will go on the ChesterMatters Instagram page. You'll see a few of my photos already there, but I don't think it's proper for me to win so just use my photos for examples how to submit your photos.
The judges and I will be looking for photos that look good and represent Chester well. If you have a good eye and some kind of device that takes photos, you qualify. You can submit up to 5 photos per week. You'll also have to identify yourself. We are not going to try to figure out who you are, especially if you're a winner. And, you can win more than once if your photos are that much better than everyone else.
All photo submissions may be used on future Chester Matters web, print, or social media content.
I'm not sure if this type of contest has ever been tried around here. My plan is to run it through the month of January if it goes off without a hitch.
